The San Francisco 49ers Monday Night matchup was pitted as a battle of NFL powerhouse defenses.  Both the Niners and their NFC North leading opponent, the Chicago Bears, were missing their starting quarterbacks.  It was a scenario that didn’t bode well for either Colin Kaepernick or Jason Campbell as they each would be facing top ranked NFL defenses.  To the surprise of many Kaepernick looked like a wily veteran calling audibles at the line of scrimmage and moving fluidly inside and outside of the pocket to avoid the Bears pass rush while giving his receivers that critical split second to get open; and when they did, he delivered the ball with zip and accuracy.  Colin Kaepernick was indeed a San Francisco treat on Monday night as he finished the game 16-23 for 243 yards, two touchdowns and a passer rating of 133, helping the 49ers improve to 7-2-1 and maintain a game and a half lead over the Seattle Seahawks.  The problem with Kaepernick’s performance is that against a top ranked defense, he more than proved that he is capable of starting and winning.  This, is a Bay Area nightmare as the 49ers will soon find themselves in the midst of a QB controversy.… Read more
