The Indy Star reports that the deal that brought Kerry Collins out of retirement wasn’t a one-year deal, but actually a two-year deal worth $14 mil.

Technically, the Indianapolis Colts signed Kerry Collins to a two-year, $14 million contract. Practically, the cost of Peyton Manning’s insurance policy is $4 million for the 2011 season. On Wednesday, Collins told local media he signed a one-year deal. In fact, the contract is two years in duration. Collins got a $2.5 million signing bonus and has a 2011 base salary of $1.5 million. The 2012 portion of the contract calls for Collins to earn a base salary of $10 million.
