The San Francisco 49ers acquired backup quarterback Colt McCoy from Cleveland on Monday.
McCoy and a sixth-round draft pick were acquired by the 49ers in exchange for the Browns fifth and seventh round picks.
The Browns had little to no use for McCoy with Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell expected to compete for the starting job in training camp. In San Francisco the 26-year-old McCoy will compete for the backup job behind Colin Kaepernick.
McCoy has some scrambling ability but his arm has always been viewed as weak by NFL scouts.
In his career McCoy has a 58.3 completion percentage to go along with 21 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
