You know, the thing I hate most about the NFL is how teams, especially the Eagles, hold and hide their cards in exhibition games while pretending, "oh yes, we really want to win these preseason games, we're not out there to just go through the motions and audition wanna-be's..." That is a total crock. Even when we try to be fair as fans, and judge only the first quarter or the first half, which are the only times you get to see your first-team starters in action, it's difficult not to become cynical of the entire preseason process. Thank the Lord we only have to undergo four of these things as fans, instead of the interminable six preseason game schedule it used to be. I believe head coach Andy Reid of the Eagles has taken preseason card-holding to a new level. In last night's loss to the Indianapolis Colts at the dome in Indiana, Reid held out his entire first-string offensive line.
