Bruce Arians is no longer the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. Arians now fades back into his singular role as offensive coordinator, but that doesn't mean he will stay there when the season ends.
From looking at the landscape, it's possible that eight NFL franchises will have head coaching vacancies this offseason. Arians, who sharpened his resume in Pittsburgh as the Super Bowl-winning O.C. of Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense, will likely get a few phone calls from general managers and owners looking to fill coaching spots.
And if the calls come, Arians will listen, or so he told Zack Gelb of WHIP in Philadelphia:
"I want to make sure they have a chance to win and see what the situation is, what city it is in. But definitely would listen, yes."

To a lot of outsiders, Reggie Waynes decision to return to Indianapolis looked like one that would lead the 34-year-old receiver to embark on a rebuilding project with the team that drafted him, Tania Ganguli of the Houston Chronicle reports.
When Wayne was making that decision, Texans receiver Andre Johnson was really hoping his old college teammate would join him.
It is pretty obvious that since Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger returned from his shoulder and rib injury that he has not played as well as he did before suffering the injury. In fact, outside of some bright spots in the game against the Dallas Cowboys, he has been downright awful.
Over the course of his career Roethlisberger has been one of the best quarterbacks...

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger looks at his passing statistics, and they're not all that bad but it's been his play, by his own admission, that's a key factor in Pittsburgh (7-8) failing to make the playoffs for only the fourth time since 2001.
''A lot of it just has to do with me not playing well enough down the stretch,'' Roethlisberger said...

Ben Roethlisberger's passing rating and passing yards per game are up from his career average, while his completion rate is the same it's been over his eight year NFL career.

The Sean Taylor Memorial Meast for Week 16 is Russell Okung, who kept Aldon Smith, who had 19.5 sacks coming into Sunday night’s game, from registering any sacks or quarterback hurries on Russell Wilson. Since Aldon Smith pledged earlier this month that for each sack he’s going to donate $5,099 to Bay Area Boys & Girls Clubs, it’s clear that Okung just hates children. Whatever...
