After going two full rounds without a selection, the Eagles have added a much coveted tight end and threw another curveball by adding yet another corner. Cornelius Ingram (6'4", 245) from Florida and Victor "Macho" Harris (5'11", 187) out of Virginia Tech were the picks, and the team has two remaining.
Mike Mayock has Ingram as his second best tight end in the draft, however he was allowed to freefall into the fifth round due to an ACL tear he suffered last season. He participated fully at the scouting combine, so early appearances are that he is recovered.
We're not familiar with Harris offhand, so for now we'll stick to measurables. Harris ran a 4.68 40 at the combine, the single slowest time among all corners in attendance. NFL.com's profile calls him a "playmaker" with "natural hands."
The Eagles also traded their first two picks of the round to New England for CB Ellis Hobbs. Hobbs started 16 games for the Pats in '07 and '08, and it's likely an insurance policy in the event that Sheldon Brown decides he needs to holdout.
My apologies on behalf of everyone here for the lack of a Phillies game thread today.
