Michael Lombardi the Cleveland Browns new G.M. may have an interest in the NFL’s top free agent this off-season, Joe Flacco. It is Lombardi’s job to investigate any possible free agents that could help the Cleveland Browns win. Joe Flacco who just won the Super Bowl is a free agent, he wants a contract that will put him among the NFL’s highest paid quarterbacks. It could be pay back time in Cleveland, in 1995 the Browns played their last game at the old Cleveland Stadium, then they packed up and left for Baltimore. Just imagine if Lombardi could lure away the Ravens top player. The guy who threw the ball great during the play offs. Flacco went through 4 play off game without throwing one interception. Maybe Lombardi and the Cleveland Browns can intercept the right kind of deal to steal the Ravens quarterback and bring him to the Browns. The Baltimore fans would just die if the Browns pulled off a deal like that and the Cleveland fans would find it as a pay back for what took place i...

  • Who writes these kind of articles? It will never happen, wake up and grow up.
  • Flacco just earned the elite QB status. Why in the world would he want to go to an organization where that elite status would quickly disappear ?
  • Not so far fetched baltimore is an ageing team there going to have to start to rebuild, clevland is up and comeing a few right plyers and they could be an elite team.Joe could see it that way and cleveland has the money to pay him.

NFL Rumor: Browns do not consider Colt McCoy a ‘viable starting option’

In his latest column, long-time Cleveland Plain Dealer columnist Terry Pluto says that the Cleveland Browns do not consider former starter Colt McCoy a “viable starting option” for the vertical offense employed by newly hired head coach Rob Chudzinski. Wherein both McCoy and last year’s starter Brandon Weeden were shoe-horned into the West Coast under-center offense, Pluto...

Ben Watson, Mohammed Massaquoi listed as free agents not likely to return

In the wake of the release of veteran defensive end and all-around decent guy Frostee Rucker earlier this week, ESPNClevland’s Tony Grossi speculated as to what unsigned, unrestricted free agents are unlikely to be back in Cleveland for the start of the Joe Banner era. The most notable may be the fan favorites in Phil Dawson and Joshua Cribbs, but former second-round draft pick...

3 Million Reasons It Doesn’t Look Like Michael Vick Is Coming To The Cleveland Browns. That’s Good News.

For days there have been multiple articles saying the Browns may have been interested in acquiring Michael Vick. The news was bothersome to some football fans who think Vick is in a serious decline. If the Eagles intended in getting rid of the aging quarterback with a multitude of head injuries, you would think they would have released him before paying him a 3 million dollar bonus...

D’Qwell Jackson’s contract officially fully guaranteed for 2013

If you were wondering if Browns inside linebacker D’Qwell Jackson would survive the move from Dick Jauron’s 4-3 defense to Ray Horton’s 3-4 scheme, wonder no more.  Since Jackson – unlike 4-3 defensive end Frostee Rucker – remained on the roster past Wednesday, February 6th, his $3.6 million base salary is fully guaranteed for the upcoming season. SN’s 2013 Mock Draft Has The Browns Taking Barkevious Mingo The O.L.B.From L.S.U. With Their #1

The Sports Network’s mock draft had the Cleveland Browns picking Barkevious Mingo with the teams first pick in the first round of the 2013 draft. I think they could be right with the Browns going to the 3-4 defense. I still think the Browns would be better off taking a corner back as the teams first draft. While it would be great to build a solid core of line-backers, the team...

What moves should the Browns make in free agency?

There is no question that there is a pretty sizable gap between the upper echelon of the NFL and the Browns. The roster as currently constructed is very young but the Browns could make some judicious moves that could help them speed up the process quicker and give them a shot to make a push for the playoffs in 2013. Jimmy Haslam and Joe Banner said they arent going to make moves...

Browns QB Brandon Weeden Eager For Competition To Remain Starter

The new regime in charge of the Browns has done nothing to cement Brandon Weeden's status as the franchise quarterback and that's just fine with him. "I expect competition. That's the way professional sports are. Unless you're Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees or these guys, you might as well expect for somebody to try to come take your job," Weeden...

Report: Eagles Hire Billy Davis As Defensive Coordinator

Geoff Mosher reports that a source has informed him that the Eagles have hired Billy Davis as their next defensive coordinator. Davis spent the past two season with the Cleveland Browns as their linebackers coach. He has also worked as a defensive coordinator for the Cardinals and 49ers in the past and has experience running both 4-3 and 3-4 base defenses, but it’s pretty clear...

2013 NFL Mock Draft: Browns continue to be linked to defense

With ESPN’s resident draftniks releasing their second iterations of their 2013 NFL mock drafts, the Cleveland Browns continue to be pegged with having a strong focus on a pass-rushing linebacker.
