The Cowboys traded up several spots to draft Mo Claiborne out of LSU when they probably could have stood pat and selected Alabama’s hard-hitting safety Mark Barron.
Claiborne who has struggled with injuries and confidence has lost his starting job to Orlando Scandrick according to reports.
According to ESPN Dallas, Jason Garrett believes Claiborne is struggling with technique, and most importantly, his confidence seems shot.
“I think it’s probably a combination,” Garrett said. “Technically, you go back at each of the completions against him and you say, ‘Hey, you should do this. You should do that.’ But I also think confidence, playing that position, is critical. And usually those two things work hand in hand. When you’re playing technically sound and you have ability, you tend to have more and more confidence because you’re in the right place. They went to him too much in this ballgame, and they were too effective. He’s just got to play better, and he will play better.”
The Cowboys expected more from Claiborne as he enters his second season and considering they could have had some other talented players, it’s imperative for Claiborne to get it together.

Dallas Cowboys LB Bruce Carter and the defense couldn't stop Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers, but they face even a stiffer challenge against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos visit on Sunday.
Orlando Scandrick started again at cornerback for the Cowboys this past weekend and might get the nod again this weekend. So what is Orlando doing to prepare for Peyton Manning and the NFL’s best offense? Orlando is busy hanging with his basketball wife Draya. He better lock down Demaryius Thomas like that this weekend.
Jay Gruden Wears Alabama Shirt and it Leads to Rumors
The NFL playoffs may have a couple of extra teams starting in 2014, if rumored scheduling changes get the go-ahead. The league is “urgently discussing” the possibility of shortening the preseason from four games to three, with that adjustment coming hand-in-hand with an expansion of the playoff field from 12 to 14 teams.
“That would offset teams’...
Tony Romo is off to a hot start to the 2013 season, despite the Dallas Cowboys’ 2-2 record. He was sharp in a loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday and has a quarterback rating of 105.0 through four games this year. That’s almost a full ten points above his career QB rating. However, […]
Here’s some ugly footage of a “brawl” that went down after Sunday’s Chargers-Cowboys game in San Diego. It’s more of a case of two idiots overreacting and using glass bottles as cheap shot weapons than an actual fair fight, and the police are looking for help in identifying the attackers. I have no doubt the Internet will do its job to identify these scumbags. [Guyism...
Dez Bryant was the Dallas Cowboys' leading receiver during Sunday's 30-21 loss in San Diego.
Bryant had six catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns. But should those stats have been even better?
After the Chargers scored for the final time, a 56-yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to Antonio Gates, the Cowboys had just under seven minutes remaining to try to mount a...
IRVING, Texas Mo Claiborne needs technique. He needs confidence. He needs health.
But most of all, the struggling young Dallas Cowboys corner the team's No. 1 pick after it judged him to be the top defensive player in the 2012 NFL Draft -- needs time.
Is there a technique problem that is contributing to the former LSU star being benched in favor of Orlando Scandrick? Yes...
The Dallas Cowboys had a great opportunity to build on a dominant win against the St. Louis Rams this week. After the first half they were well on their way to beating the San Diego Chargers.
Dez Bryant once again showed why he is one of the best receivers in the league. He grabbed a jump ball in the end zone for a score, and he then later caught a 34 yard touchdown pass...
Today Anthony Spencer, our franchise-tagged defensive end, is undergoing microfracture surgery on his left knee to repair his articular cartilage damage. A league source has said that the procedure involves the use of stem cells.
The 2012 Pro Bowler, was placed on IR last Wednesday after he played in just one game - the game two 17-16 loss to Kansas City.
The Cowboys may be 2-2 to start the season, much as they did the last season, but one player who has performed (and improved) is Tony Romo.
In a conference call with Denver media, Tony went into detail about how changes in his throwing mechanics have allowed him to approach the game in a calmer and steadier manner than he has in the past. Per Charean Williams of the Star-Telegram...
I said this before Michael Irvin did, but if it sounds better coming from the Hall of Famer, I’m all for it.
Tony Romo is off to a sizzling start this season, and he is not the reason the Cowboys are 2-2 after blowing a lead to the San Diego Chargers.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Irvin and a few other colleagues on the NFL Network’s Sunday pregame show deemed Romo,...
During an appearance on ESPN 980 in Washington D.C., Adam Schefter gave his thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys so far this season.
“You just can not count on them. They are so un-clutch,” said Schefter, per Chris Russell of ESPN 980.
Well, I’m sure Schefter will get a lot of hate mail from Dallas fans now.

However, Romo has become known as a player...
This season is supposed to be different for the Dallas Cowboys. They brought in a new offensive coordinator in Bill Callahan and a new defensive coordinator in Monte Kiffin. Quarterback Tony Romo, who recently signed a 6-year, $108 million dollar contract extension ($55 million guaranteed), is having more say-so on what plays the offense will run. The defense would be better than...
Jerry Jones is never shy about his opinions about what can make the team better, and he had his own coaching tips for Tony Romo today.
His advice? Find Dez Bryant more, even if the insanely talented wide receiver is double covered.
