Center Ryan Cook, who has a sore knee, was not seen participating in practice for the second consecutive day.
Cook, fullback Lawrence Vickers (knee), defensive lineman Sean Lissemore (ankle) and safety Matt Johnson (hamstring) and center Phil Costa (ankle) werent spotted on the field Thursday.
Cornerback Mike Jenkins (back) was present but when the defensive backs began to do individual drills he retreated to the sidelines along with linebacker DeMarcus Ware.
Before that happened, practice-squad wide receiver Danny Coale was carted off after suffering what appeared to be a lower leg injury. Coale, a rookie, had fractured his left foot in the off-season, hurt his quadriceps in training camp and also strained his hamstring earlier this season.
