Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne has no issues with Friday's comments made by team executive vice president Stephen Jones about the rookie needing to play through certain "things." In fact, Claiborne understands why the front office would be frustrated with having its top pick sidelined by a wrist injury during the OTAs and minicamp and now a knee injury in training camp. "I understand where he's coming from," Claiborne said Saturday, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas. "Anytime you put that much money in somebody to go out and play, you want them out on the field playing. I understand exactly where he's coming from." The Cowboys traded up to select Claiborne with the No. 6 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, which came with a four-year contract worth $16.264 million in fully guaranteed money, including a $10,268,728 signing bonus. The Cowboys expect the shutdown corner from LSU to start immediately across from free agent addition Brandon Carr, but his preseason debut will have to wait. Claiborne practiced a bit on Saturday, but is not expected to play in Monday night's game against the Oakland Raiders.

Sapp: Defense hasn't helped Romo

Former seven-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Warren Sapp has taken his fair share of shots at Tony Romo over the last couple of years. But recently, he actually backed the 32-year-old franchise quarterback, choosing to blame last season's .500 record on the Cowboys' defense...

Cowboys' Jones still in search of another ring

OXNARD, Calif. -- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones can't envision his legacy without at least one more Super Bowl title. And surely part of that desire involves the thought that most Cowboys fans believe that Jimmy Johnson played a more significant role than Jones in those three titles in the 90s. Romo plans on playing at least 6 more years

Finishing the Splash Play Project - Part 4

This is the final blog entry for 2011 Splash Plays as we view every single defensive snap of last year to evaluate who was making plays and who was just taking up space for the Cowboys' defense.
