Tony Romo’s strength can be a gift and a curse sometimes.  Romo can extend plays like the best of them, and turn something into nothing at the blink of an eye. That same ability, can also create those heartbreaking interceptions that he’s prone to throw at times.  Dallas quarterback coach Wade Wilson played in the NFL and has some insight into the mind of Tony Romo. As Wilson told ESPN Dallas recently, Romo sometimes “tries to do too much, which gets him into trouble.” “I think that happened a lot this year,” Wilson said. “He tried to make up for mistakes and trying to convert third-and-longs. It leads to bad plays.” “We talk about (game management) all the time,” Wilson said. “Certainly you want to take care of the football. We’ve got to do a better job with that. Always talking about game management and things.” Romo is 1-6 in win or go home games, regardless of it they are playoff games, or games to get into the playoffs.  Wilson says he speaks to Romo all the time about that. “The way we look at it, or the way I look at it, is the Cowboys are 1-6 in win-or-go-home kind of games,” he said. “Now, he’s been the quarterback and whatnot and there’s certainly that responsibility, but he’s just got to play. We talk about mental toughness, playing every play the same, regardless of circumstance. So that’s what we talk about it.”

  • Keep paying Romo millions while he still tries to learn. Romo chokes .... He cannot improvise after the snap.
