The Dallas Cowboys announced today that they’ve signed second round pick, tight end Gavin Escobar. The Cowboys signed second-round pick Gavin Escobar on Friday, leaving first-round pick Travis Frederick as the only draft pick yet to sign. Escobar became the third tight end to be drafted in the second round by the Cowboys since 2006. The other two, Martellus Bennett and Anthony Fasano, have since joined other teams. The Cowboys clearly hope Escobar can mesh better with the Dallas offense than the previous tight end picks. Dallas is expected to utilize more two tight-end sets this season with the addition of the 6-6 receiving threat. Details of the contract have not been revealed, but the deal will be similar to that of Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner, who was also selected with the 47th overall pick in last year’s draft. Wagner’s deal was for four years and $4.3 million, with $2.1 million guaranteed. Need NFL Tickets? The post Cowboys sign 2nd round pick Gavin Escobar appeared first on Pro Football Zone.
