IRVING – Don’t expect the Cowboys to respond to the trash talk coming out of the Giants locker room this week.
“I’ve been quoted many times saying I hate the Dallas Cowboys, and I still do,” Giants defensive end Justin Tuck told reporters Monday.
Told what Tuck said, Cowboys defensive end Marcus Spears offered what amounted to a verbal shrug.
“Talking trash doesn’t do anything for you, you’ve got to go do it,” Spears said. “That’s coach (Jason) Garrett’s message also. You’ve got to go do it. You can talk about it all week, talk about how you want to do things and how you want to be great as a football team, but Sunday is the chance to do it.”
While the players will likely keep mum, there’s no muzzle on defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, who is sure to be asked later in the week about Giants running back Brandon Jacobs telling Ryan’s brother, Jets coach Rex Ryan, to “shut up, fat boy” after the Giants beat the Jets on Christmas Eve to set up Sunday’s winner-take-all showdown
