The Dallas Cowboys have mastered The Internet, but not in the way they’d intended.

Back in 2007, the Dallas Cowboys placed a winning bid on the Cowboys.com domain name, but never actually handed over the 275K they’d bid “due to an internal miscommunication.” Given the timeframe I’m gonna guess the internal miscommunication was “somebody saw a GoDaddy commercial and thought they should look into it, because everyone loves dancing ladies,” but that’s unconfirmed. The report, from Domain Name News by way of Shutdown Corner:

The domain name brought in a $275,000 bid from a phone-in bidder at the recent TRAFFIC domain live auction in Hollywood, Florida. The bidder had been earlier identified to be a representative from the Dallas Cowboys NFL team. An inside source confirmed with DomainNameNews that the deal began to fall apart over a misunderstanding with the bidder on what the bid of “275″ actually meant. It appears the bidder thought they were buying the domain for $275.00 rather than $275,000.

Cowboys.com remained dormant for years, but now in the most Internet thing of all time, the site is operational … and it’s a cowboy-themed gay dating site. No, seriously, check the site's description:

Are you a country western cowboy looking for a man to ride into the sunset with? Come and create [a] relationship with singles [who] share your appreciation for the country way of life. You’ll be able to find your perfect match here.

According to a press release from the owner of the site, it’s not necessarily a “gay cowboy dating site,” as it looks to “serve the needs of straight daters as well,” as long as said straight daters want to connect with cowboys who apparently prefer dating other male cowboys. No matter what, the site will continue to serve 0% of people looking for Tony Romo’s stats.

Wonder what’s going on at Bears.com?

Cowboys' win over Bucs far from artistic

ARLINGTON, Texas As the Sunday sun was setting on Cowboys Stadium, two old Dallas quarterbacks compared notes on the deeper meaning of the home team's 16-10 win over Tampa Bay, a victory that moves Dallas to 2-1 but also keeps the club perilously close to being "just another .500 team.'' "Over the years, we've score a lot of points in games and done it with...

Romo: Big hits part of playing QB in the NFL

ARLINGTON The Cowboys offensive line didn't do Tony Romo many favors in Sunday's home opener. Romo was sacked four times and hit hard after several throws. After the game, Romo said the 16-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was one of the "most physically tough" games he's played in. He then joked that he'd probably be using some ice packs tonight....

Cowboys not as good as they think

NFL wins are not Maxim girls, meaning appearances do not matter quite as much when judging them. The virtues of the ugly ones are praised sometimes more so than the pretty ones, given attributes like determination and pluck when, in actuality, luck may be more apropos. So it was Sunday at JerryWorld. The aftermath of the Dallas Cowboys' 16-10 victory against Tampa Bay was filled...

Melissa Rycroft Hot Chick of the Day (Pictures)

Today's hot chick is Melissa Rycroft from Dallas, Texas. She is a reality television contestant and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.  She was on the cast of Dancing with the Stars and made this seasons All Star cast by winning her season of the show.  She should be one of the last girls standing with her dancing background and hottness to woo the crowd to vote for her. ...

Poor Tony Romo, not only did he get destroyed on this sack by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Gerald McCoy but he didn't even get a penalty for a helmet-to-helmet hit from the replacement officials:

Kevin Olgetree Slips On Replacement Referee’s Hat

The replacement refs have been under incredible scrutiny for their performance in the first few games of this NFL season, and this latest incident won’t help anything. Kevin Ogletree of the Dallas Cowboys slipped during a play on a replacement refs cap, which was thrown in order to mark the fact that a WR has gone out of bounds. Just when you think it can’t get worse… via...
