The Chicago Bears rallied in the fourth quarter for the second straight week Sunday as Jay Cutler hit tight end Martellus Bennett on a 16-yard touchdown pass with 10 seconds remaining to beat the Minnesota Vikings 31-30 at rainy Soldier Field. The Bears who overcame Cincinnati 24-21 in the season opener improved to 2-0 while the Vikings fell to 0-2. "We can get better" Bears coach Marc Trestman said. "We're going to look at the film and work on some things. .... Our guys kept their cool and made enough plays." Cutler completed 28 of 39 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns. He was intercepted twice and lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. He had a passer rating of 97.2. Matt Forte rushed for 90 yards on 19 carries. Bennett had seven catches for 76 yards and two touchdown. Brandon Marshall had 11 catches for 71 yards. The Vikings came in determined to put up a fight and a 22-yard field goal by Blair Walsh extended Minnesota's lead to 30-24 with 3:17 left in the fourth quarter. The Vikings got the ball when Forte had it stripped from him by Letroy Guion and they drove 43 yards in eight plays. Earlier a 28-yard field goal by Walsh had put Minnesota ahead 27-24 with 8:05 to play. Another 28-yard field goal by Walsh at the 2:32 mark of the third quarter had tied the score at 24. Robbie Gould's 20-yard field goal on the final play of the first half gave the Bears a 24-21 lead at intermission. Bears fan watching the game on TV missed most of the final minutes of the first half because of what Fox Sports said were technical difficulties. The network switched to its halftime studio show while the Bears were driving for a go-ahead score but returned in time for Gould's field goal. "It is not a local issue" Fox spokesman Dan Bell said told the Tribune. "We are having technical difficulties with the signal transmission lines to the production truck at Soldier Field. Our entire production staff is working as fast as they can to rectify the issue. We sincerely apologize to all viewers watching this broadcast especially the Chicago and Minneapolis markets." A 20-yard TD pass from Christian Ponder to tight end Ken Rudolph pulled the Vikings into a 21-21 tie with 1:11 to play before intermission.
