A shark is going hungry tonight.

NFL agent, Drew Rosenhaus, owns a giant client roster and an even bigger ego. Frank Gore and Rob Gronkowski are a couple of Rosenhaus' clients, as is the unemployed, Terrell Owens.

However, Dallas Cowboys receiver, Dez Bryant, is no longer allowing the influential Rosenhaus to do his bidding.

The troubled Dallas receiver is likely in the process of removing cancerous elements from his life, both personally and professionally.

This course of action might have spurred on Bryant's altercation with his mother weeks ago. Reports indicate that members of the Cowboys' organization are behind the recent firings.

Firing Rosenhaus is a significant step in Bryant's development and current transformation. Bryant's performance early in training camp is extremely positive, and the Cowboys' intervention in to the company Bryant keeps is playing a role. The Cowboys are giving Bryant more attention than he requires, but only because they know he can achieve his full potential if he focuses solely on football now.

Bryant is still a young man. Only two full seasons deep in the league, Bryant is in a make-or-break third year.  Most impact receivers are difference-makers by the end of year three. Bryant can take over the Cowboys with mediocre Miles Austin sitting at the top of the depth chart.

Austin doesn't possess the same physical qualities as Bryant and is beginning to feel like a one-year wonder.

Austin caught only seven touchdown passes in 2011. Late addition Laurent Robinson finished the season with 11 touchdowns.

If Bryant continues to focus on football and removes toxic components of his life, then he is maturing and moving in the right direction. Dealing with highly distracting agents can weigh heavily on a player trying to perfect his game.

Contract negotiations, endorsement deals, and publicity will drag young Bryant down with speed. Although Bryant will require new representation, almost anyone else is a better selection than Rosenhaus.

Bryant is making all the right moves, minus that whole assault on his mother thing.
