Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was one of many NFL players who flew to Washington D.C. on Wednesday in hopes of voting on new collective bargaining agreement. That scheduled vote did not happen, but is expected to take place Thursday. Witten said some of his Dallas teammates joined him in attending the scheduled vote.

“We are chomping at the bit,” Witten said.

Witten was optimistic before he left for D.C., telling the Fort Worth Star-Telegram the NFL Players Association had handled the labor negotiations well.

“There are a lot of loose ends,” Witten said. “As players, I’m proud of how we’ve handled it. We hung in there and kind of weathered the storm. We’ve put it behind us in time, so that no games are missed or anything like that. We’re just hopeful everything will get resolved.”

Witten is still in Washington hoping to vote on a new CBA Thursday.
