When the New York Jets released offensive tackle Damien Woody a few months ago, it was a pretty bold move. On one hand, Woody is coming off a couple of leg injuries and isn’t getting any younger. But on the other hand, he should be healthy by the time the season (theoretically) starts, and is still one of the best tackles in the game. I wrote about Woody’s impending free agency and what should happen with him in greater detail a few months ago, and in a nutshell, I would love it if the Jets reached out to Woody after the lockout and brought him back for another year. Now, there are whispers that the Jets will indeed look to bring Woody back, especially since the coaching staff hasn’t had the opportunity to coach up Vladimir Ducasse during the lockout. It would be great if he came back. But obviously that’s a two-way street. However, Woody posted a video message on Tout.com last night expressing a desire to return. Can’t wait!
