Danny Amendola hasn’t been in New England very long, but he’s already making an impact on the community.
After yesterday’s unfortunate attacks at the Boston Marathon, Amendola took to Twitter to address the incident and said that he’ll be donating throughout the season for every catch AND every dropped pass.
He’ll donate $100 for every catch he passes, and up the ante for every drop, donating $200 each time.
He says that the money will go to whatever ”Boston Marathon Relief Fund” there is along the way.
A good gesture for the presumed go-to guy for Tom Brady after the departure of Wes Welker. Welker, whom Amendola replaces, caught 100 passes in each of his last five years with the Patriots, the first in NFL History to do so.
Barring any major changes to the offense, Amendola should be donating a few bills this season.
Amendola signed a five-year, $28.5 million deal in March with the Patriots.
