Danny Woodhead is headed to San Diego
It's a busy day down at Foxboro, but sadly Danny Woodhead is heading to the West Coast to play for the San Diego Chargers. This is a tough one. I love Woodhead as almost all Patriots fans do. He was a scrappy overachiever who made huge plays at big times. Often forgotten is how good he played in the latest Super Bowl loss to the Giants.

Then again, this does not come as too much of a surprise with the late-season emergence of skilled running back Shane Vereen. Nonetheless, hard to see Woody go. We wish him nothing but the best, it was a great run in New England.
BEST OF MAXIM

Danny Woodhead has signed a two-year deal with the San Diego Chargers. Between Stevan Ridley, Brandon Bolden, Shane Vereen and now Leon Washington (to an extent), there wasn’t an overwhelming need to bring Woodhead back to New England, though he was arguable the Patriots most reliable runningback in 2012. He was a fun player to watch, and the great heart he played with will be missed.
Another offensive weapon from the Patriots 2012 season is on his way to new pastures.
Just two days after wide receiver Wes Welker signed with Denver, running back Danny Woodhead reportedly signed a two-year deal with the Chargers, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston.

Wes Welker isn’t the only fan favorite that will be playing for another team next season. On Friday, the San Diego Chargers agreed to a two-year deal with cult hero Danny Woodhead. Woodhead is a versatile back that can do basically anything an offensive scheme asks of him. He occupied the role of third-down back last season for the Patriots.

Former Patriots running back Danny Woodhead has signed a two-year deal with the Chargers.Fantasy Spin:Woodhead had 747 yards from scrimmage, seven touchdowns and 40 receptions last season. He'll serve as San Diego's third-down back and could provide decent value in PPR leagues considering Ronnie Brown had 49 catches in that role last season.

Well you obviously can’t bring everyone back and with the signing of Leon Washington, the writing was perhaps on the wall for Danny Woodhead who signed a two-year contract with the San Diego Chargers.
Woodhead who came to New England after being released by the New York Jets was a valuable third down back and punt returner for the team in his three seasons in Foxboro.
Every year is the same
And I feel it again,
I'm a loser - no chance to win.
Leaves start falling,
Come down is calling,
Loneliness starts sinking in.
Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Those who have been Justice Leaguers for many years know that this is my least favorite time of the year. The NFL, to their credit, have truly made themselves...
The New England Patriots have a thing for the New York Jets' former little guys. New England is saying goodbye to the undersized Danny Woodhead, a former Jet who the Patriots used in various situations, often on third down, at tailback over the past three seasons. But the Patriots are now bringing in another small all-purpose back and ex-Jet in Leon Washington, who they signed...
Leon Washington wouldn't help much at the running back position, but he is a great punt and kick returner. He's being let go in Seattle because they got Percy Harvin, who gives them a threat as both a returner and a receiver.
The interest level in returners is probably an indication that they aren't entirely confident in Jeff Demps - the Olympic sprinter who they brought...
