BallertainmentDarrelle Revis traded by Jets to the Buccaneers Darrelle Revis is now a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The New York Jets traded the All-Pro cornerback to the Bucs for a first-round pick (13th) in Thursday’s NFL Draft. Also included are a 2014 conditional pick and fourth-round pick. Revis, coming off an ACL injury he suffered early in the 2012 season, is the beneficiary of a six-year, $96 million deal (non-guaranteed). He joins a Bucs team that finished last season 7-9 and hasn’t made an NFL playoff appearance since 2007. Needless to say, expectations for Revis’ arrival and contributions are high. Is he healthy enough? Will he be the same player? In a show of class and respect, D.R. shared the following sentiments to Jets fans via Twitter… I been sitting around for the last hour trying to figure out what to say to the Jet Nation & I came up with this. The six years I played for — Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) April 21, 2013 the New York Jets were unbelievable. I put my body on the line everyday & did everything could to help the team win. I experienced a lot & — Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) April 21, 2013 & learned a lot. The memories I had in New York I will keep dearly to my heart. I want to thank all the jets fans for making me feel welcome — Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) April 21, 2013 Its got to be tough to leave the only team you’ve played for as a professional (Ed Reed can probably attest to that), but everything must change and Revis, arguably the best shut down corner in the league, will be just fine. As for the Jets, this move doesn’t spell an improvement for their team. Darrelle was the least of their problems. They suffered their worst season under Rex Ryan (6-10) as head coach last year and failed at the Tebow Experiment — if things don’t turn around for them this season, Ryan and perhaps QB Mark Sanchez will be the next ones out the door. By the way, the Bucs open their 2013 season where? At MetLife Stadium, against the Jets. BOOM! Ballertainment - Sports Entertainment, Gossip, Lifestyle, and News
