David Wilson of the New York Giants came out last week saying that he would stop doing backflips after scoring touchdowns, but apparently his memory is quite short. Wilson helped cut the Ravens lead on Sunday from 14-7 on a 14-yard touchdown run, and followed up the touchdown with a backflip. Recently, teammate Justin Tuck had advised Wilson that he should stop doing backflips because there is a possibility of him possibly injuring himself. Wilson also explained last week why he started doing the celebration. “For me, it’s not that hard. It’s just as easy as running. I’ve been doing it almost the same amount of time as I’ve been running. I’ve been doing it since I was 3 years old. Started flipping and kept doing it,” Wilson said. “Now it’s almost second-nature. A lot of fans get nervous when I do it and the coaches and teammates, but they fail to realize how easy it is for me.” Wilson took the advice of Justin Tuck, or so we thought, and last week Wilson was quoted saying the following about stopping his back flips: “I think it’s for the team’s best interests,” Wilson said. “I don’t want to make anyone upset or nervous or scared. I want to do something that people enjoy rather than worry about.” Either Wilson forgot about his promise, or the urge to do what comes naturally was just too overwhelming. Regardless, someone should let Wilson know that if somehow he didn’t realize it, he actually did a back flip following his touchdown scamper. Article found on: Cosby Sweaters
