University of Georgia product Cornelius Washington feels a disrespected about being taken in the sixth round.
In four seasons at Georgia, Washington played in 51 games along with 25 starts; he had 22 tackles and half a sack while playing in 14 games with 10 starts as a senior.
However, his physical skill set is prototypical for a NFL pass rusher.
At 6’4, 265 pounds, Washington fits nicely on the edge of the Bears defensive line, but he’s going to have to prove he can produce at the NFL level.
According to Larry Mayer of ChicagoBears.com, Washington could be a draft day steal for the Bears looking for youth on their defensive line.
As for Washington, he’s happy to be in the NFL, but he’s ready to show his team that he’s the real deal.
"I am a little bit discouraged, but the call came and that is the most important thing," Washington said at the time. "Now I am just ready to go out there and be a Chicago Bear and contribute to their team as much as I possibly can.
