Raiders running back Darren McFadden allayed any concerns about his long layoff within a three-play span, yet that didnt earn him time off in the remaining exhibition games. In those three plays Monday night, McFadden netted 4 yards on a run, 18 on a catch-and-run play in which he lined up as a wide receiver and 16 on a burst around the left side. This came in his first game since a severe foot injury last October. McFadden missed the final nine games last season as a result of the injury to his right foot. Despite McFaddens impressive showing against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, coach Dennis Allen said McFadden still needs even more work in game settings between now and the regular-season opener Sept. 11. Darren needs to get his touches so that he goes into the regular season ready to go, Allen said in a conference call, and thats the most important thing for him is to make sure hes fully ready to roll when the opening game comes off on Monday night.

Defenses Dominate as the Cowboys Beat the Raiders
The 2012 NFL Pre-Season is officially underway for the Oakland Raiders. And what better way to start football again with a Monday Night contest? Several players were not able to suit up for the game due to injuries: WRs Duke Calhoun (knee), Eddie McGee (hamstring) and Denarius Moore (hamstring); RBs Taiwan Jones (hamstring) and Mike [...]
What To Expect From Terrelle Pryor
Terrelle Pryor was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft. It was the late Al Davis’ last draft pick for a franchise that he ran for half a century. His last pick was the perfect story book ending to his great career. Selecting Pryor with a 3rd round pick not only fit Davis’ mold of targeting the biggest and fastest players, but by selecting...
Raiders QB Carson Palmer Gives Rookie a Dong Haircut (Photo)
For rookies, there's always going to be hazing. As Busted Coverage notes, Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer took part in it, giving offensive tackle Joseph Barksdale an interesting haircut that outlines a dong. Yikes. Jeff Demps the Olympic sprinter and former RB for the Florida Gators has announced he is ready to get back to Football and the Raiders are in need of adding another running back with all the injuries that are piling up. Jeff Demps played for the Florida Gators for four years as a change of [...]
Raiders' McFadden sharp in return
Darren McFadden needed one series to show he's in midseason form for Oakland following a foot injury that cut his last season short.
Most of the rest of the first-team offensive players for the Raiders and Dallas Cowboys need plenty of work to get back to that level.
McFadden picked up where he left off last season by gaining 38 yards on Oakland's first three plays of the...
Raiders back at it with brutal rookie hazing haircuts (Pictures)
If you’re an NFL rookie who thinks you have it bad, just be thankful you don’t play in Oakland. We don’t really know if their rookies actually get the worst haircuts or if they simply do a great job of publicizing it, but any rookie who plays for the Raiders might as well completely shave their own head before training camp begins. Otherwise, there’s no guarantee you won’t...
Raiders Punter Shane Lechler Recovering From Knee Surgery
Punter Shane Lechler's absence from the Raiders' practice field is because of arthroscopic surgery on his left knee just before training camp started, Jerry McDonald of Bayareanewsgroup.com. Lechler said Wednesday he was having pain and swelling during workouts before deciding "to have it cleaned out" about 10 days before the team reported to Napa. Being ready for...
Camp Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Raider
I’ve written a lot about the immense potential of Oakland Raiders’ tight end David Ausberry and so far my predictions in training camp has not shown Ausberry taking the next step in 2012 because of shaky run blocking on top of the fact his main asset in pass catching has been inconsistent with too many dropped balls during camp. [...]
Raiders drop first pre-season game to Dallas 0-3
Inconsistency was the word of the game for the Raiders who were shut out at home in their 2012 preseason opener versus the Dallas Cowboys.
The starting offense only played a few series and moved the ball well but some miscues between QB Carson Palmer and WR Jacoby Ford kept them from capitalizing on Darren McFadden's hard running.
In the first drive, the Raiders moved down...
Richard Seymour Among 11 Raiders Not Suiting Up Against Cowboys
It looks like the Raiders see no reason to take any chances with defensive tackle Richard Seymour this early in the preseason. Seymour is one of 11 players who will not dress for tonight's opener against Dallas. He took part in the Raiders' practice Saturday and light session Sunday, but missed four days before that with a knee injury. Running backs Taiwan Jones (hamstring...

Raides lose to Cowboys, but McFadden looks sharp
OAKLAND - The Dennis Allen era got underway Monday night at the O.co Coliseum, but the Raiders' new coach will have to wait at least a few more days to get his first NFL win - and to see his offense score its first points. Allen and the Raiders opened the exhibition season with a 3-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, although Oakland running back Darren McFadden...
