PLAYERS: Nick Fairley
TEAMS: Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley's lawyer Sid Harrell told the Detroit Free Press that the NFL's newly minted top bad boy will plead not guilty today to charges of DUI and eluding police on May 27th.

Harrell also said it's too early to know if a plea deal can be reached.

Alabama state troopers say Fairley was driving his Cadillac Escalade at 100 mph on Interstate 10. He also was cited for reckless driving, no proof of insurance and having an open container of alcohol.

It was his second run in witht he law in as many months. In April he charged with the marijuana possession. He has a hearing for that on July 31st.

Lions' offseason trouble adding up

Here's the stat that defines the Lions offseason: relevant free agents signed, 4; offseason arrests, 6. The latest came last Saturday when starting right cornerback Aaron...

Stat Line: Detroit Lions

With one Detroit Lion after another cropping up on the police blotter this offseason, it’s worth remembering, as we approach the 2012 NFL season, one of the team’s primary undoings last year: lack of discipline.
