Devin Hester has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month.
This is his third time in his career that he’s won the monthly award.
The last two awards for Hester came in December of 2006 and September of 2007.
He recorded eight punt returns for 130 yards (16.3 average) and a 69-yard touchdown in October. He had nine kickoff returns for 278 yards (30.9 average) with a 98-yard score.
He has 17 return touchdowns (11 punt, five kickoff, one missed field goal) during his six-year career.
He trails only Deion Sanders (19) for most return touchdowns ever.
Maybe Hester will bring back his magic from the 2006 “MNF” thriller against the Arizona Cardinals. The Bears need all the help they can get against the “Dream Team” next Monday night in Philadelphia.
Here’s a look at that game winning punt return by Devin Hester against Arizona Cardinals in the Bears’ 2006 season:

Hot News for WR Devin Hester
When Chris Conte played at California, teammate DeSean Jackson was the best kick returner he had ever seen. In Conte’s first college game in 2007, Jackson returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown against 15th-ranked Tennessee, and Conte had the honor of providing the finishing block. It was Jackson’s...
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen and Chicago Bears return specialist Devin Hester have been chosen as the NFC's top players for the month of October.
Last week, Grizzly Detail named Matt Forte the offensive MVP through the half-season, and Devin Hester the special teams MVP. It was a no-brainer at the time, because both men have had such an important impact on the team.
It turns out that it's not just Chicagoans who have taken notice of Forte and Hester's contributions. Noted football writer Peter King has named...
This week, the Eagles will face the Bears on Monday Night Football. Two prime time games in a row! YAY, but also some of us have DAY JOBS y’all!
I have to admit, in the McNabb era, I tended to worry about night games. If you’ve been reading this blog for any amount of time, you know I have always been a huge Big5 fan. But DMac was often not as his best in the prime time games...
Peter King includes RB Matt Forte and PR Devin Hester on his mid-season All-Pro team in Sports Illustrated this week.
King also names Forte his offensive player of the year, while choosing Packers QB Aaron Rodgers as the MVP.
As impressive as Forte has been running the ball for 672 yards and a 5.4-yard average, he might be even more valuable to the Bears as a receiver. He leads the...
