When Michael Vick was asked at the end of the season what went wrong, he said his teammates needed to take a good look in the mirror. Vick was obviously hurt from the firing of Andy Reid, but he felt his teammates let Reid down with a lack of effort. It was obvious those comments came with a feeling he wouldn’t be in Philadelphia in 2013. Vick said: “It’s all about focus, dedication and commitment,” Vick said, via csnphilly.com. “Until you get guys who are willing to better themselves week in and week out and want to win, you’re not going to win.  And I haven’t played with guys like that.  It’s unfortunate for coach thing turned out the way they are.  It could have been a lot better.  This locker room could have dictated that.” “I give 110 percent effort,” Vick said.  “My body is scarred up all year.  I’m hurt, I’m bruised, get up after every hit and still try and fight and push.  I do that for my coaches.  I do that for my teammates.  And I would expect the same thing in return.” However, Vick agreed to restructure his contract, remaining an Eagle. So now there is some damage control Vick has to do, but he was right in his comments, next time he’ll have to use his inner voice. Until then, he will have to win back the trust and he’s talking to the players, letting them know he was included in that statement. “I talked to about 15, 16 of my teammates already,” Vick told the radio station. “They know me as a person.  They know me as a competitor.  I wasn’t pointing the finger at one person.  It would have been easy to just point out one group of guys or a couple individuals who I thought could have played better, but I said that including myself,” Vick said, via Tim McManus of phillymag.com.   var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});

  • why is this news?
  • Vick was right. Too many players especially on the Defense were AWFUL. There appeared to be a contest going for how many players could finish the game with no tackles.
  • Vick should look in the mirror himself He let the intire city of philly down not just the coachs. Reid got what he deserved.
