Offensive tackle D.J. Fluker has said he wants to make the Pro Bowl in his second season with the San Diego Chargers. If he does, he'll be one step ahead of another former Alabama high school star who was a Pro Bowl offensive tackle in the NFL and a player that Fluker has tried to emulate. Walter Jones was an All-State player for the Aliceville Yellow Jackets in 1992. Fluker was an All-State player for the Foley Lions in 2008. Jones was the first-round pick of the AFC West's Seattle Seahawks in the 1997 NFL Draft, even though he hadn't been on any of the major All-American teams in his final season at Florida State. Fluker was the first-round pick of the AFC West's Chargers in the 2013 NFL Draft, even though he hadn't been on any of the major All-American teams in his final season at Alabama. Jones was an NFL All-Rookie selection in 1997. Fluker was an NFL All-Rookie selection in 2013. Jones started all 180 games he played for the Seahawks from 1997 through 2008. Fluker started all 15 games he played for the Chargers in his rookie season. Fluker remembers seeing Jones play on TV. He told espn.com he was inspired by a block by Jones during the 2005 NFC championship game. Jones pushed Carolina defensive end Mike Rucker for about 15 yards before finally putting him on his back at about the Carolina 5-yard line to spring Shaun Alexander in the Seahawks' 34-14 victory.
