Miami Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller was carted off the field in the second quarter of last night’s preseason contest against the Houston Texans with an apparent right leg injury. Based on the photo taken by Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press, it appears the injury could be significant. This is how Dustin Keller's knee went one way, and lower leg went another. pic.twitter.com/LrkeIJoqBb — Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) August 18, 2013 During the preseason, players are taken off the field on a cart more frequently than during the regular season. This is a precaution taken by clubs. While some of the players that have been carted off earlier this preseason have returned soon after sustaining what turned out to be their minor injuries, it doesn’t look like Keller’s is as much of a lock to be insignificant. The Dolphins signed Keller this offseason to become a key part of the team’s revamped passing game – which also included the addition of dynamic wide receiver Mike Wallace. His absence would certainly impact the Dolphins up the middle. More is likely to come out today or Monday regarding Keller’s status. Follow @TheNFLInjuryRpt Looking for fantasy football advice?
