Just like in the photo.. Kevin Burnett hasn't shown his face in MIA. Took $20 mil & ran

An 0-4 start could make Mother Theresa want to kick a baby in the head and spin a blind kid in circles, or in Miami Dolphins linebacker Kevin Burnett’s case–challenge a Dolphins beat writer to put some shoulder pads on.

Burnett apparently didn’t like something critical he had read about the winless Dolphins written by South Florida Sun-Sentential Dolphins writer, Omar Kelly. During a postgame interview after the San Diego Chargers 26-16 whipping of the Dolphins Burnett began to yell at Kelly who stood nearby.

“I don’t know how you want to talk to me, homeboy,” Burnett said. “If you’ve got something to say, come at me like a man, homeboy. Don’t hide behind no computer.” [Miami Herald]

After a Dolphins official warded off Burnett, the linebacker again yelled at the sportswriter.

“Hey, if you want to see if I can tackle, you put on some pads, homeboy,” Burnett said, brushing off the official. “Don’t get mad. Why you’re going to criticize the team in your own hometown, boy? You’re supposed to support the home team.” [Miami Herald]

Burnett has a mind boggling 14 whole tackles with 0 sacks and 0 impact plays on the season, coming off a career year in San Diego in which he had 80 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 interceptions (one back for a touchdown) and 2 forced fumbles which warranted a big four-year, $20 million deal with the Fins in July. Not surprising that Burnett has gotten this tough guy persona all of a sudden. Burnett was signed by the Dolphins this summer to replace released/retired punk-ass linebacker Channing Crowder. Must be that ILB position in MIA….all talk, no action.

Instead of threatening a beat writer…how about you put that anger on the field and get to a QB there $20 million dollar man. Maybe then you could help your sorry, winless team get a victory. Unless you would rather bring South Florida a repeat of it’s 2007′s 1-15 season….Homeboy.

  • Only if Kevin would chase down New England TE's (or RB's) this way! We would be 4-0!
