As if things weren’t complicated enough, the Miami Dolphins who have been big spenders in free agency, now want in on the Elvis Dumervil chase.
The Dolphins have been grabbing players at a furious pace with a fat wallet, which could make it difficult for the salary strapped teams currently pursuing Dumervil.
According to Josh Alper of Profootbaltalk.com, the Dolphins are cutting in on this dance. Alper writes:
‘The Dolphins have “jumped into discussions” with Dumervil, who has offers from the Broncos and Ravens already on the table, but that the extent of their interest is unknown.
Dumervil would make a pretty nice bookend across from Cameron Wake in the Dolphins pass rush.
Miami has more money to spend than any of the other teams in the mix for Dumervil, especially with the deals for wide receiver Mike Wallace and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe structured to take up relatively little cap space in the 2013 season.’
