How dare those Patriots. Running a successful play, trying it again and succeeding with it over and over against a team that couldn't just defend it. What did they think it was, a football game or something? Apparently, some Miami Dolphins players complained, calling it "disrespectful." Really. A Patriots' fourth quarter clock-killing drive consisted of 16 plays, 13 of them running plays, with 6 of them through the same hole... that the Dolphins defense couldn't stop. So basically we have a few Dolphins (and grown men mind you) crying "hey, stop doing that, we can't stop you, quit it, no fair". We're surprised someone didn't take the game ball and go home. DT Tony McDaniel said “It really [ticked] me off... It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful", he said, via Brian Briggane of the Palm Beach Post. (H/T PFT) “Normally when somebody’s driving down the field you just think, ‘Well, they just had a good run there,’ but you run the same play over and over, as a competitor that [ticks] me off.” Embarrassing to say the least. I would've went the 'anonymous player' route on that quote. “It is disrespectful, but you’ve got to stop it,” Randy Starks said, who's the guy with maybe half of a voice of reason here. “We never stopped it, so I’d keep running the same play, too.” Exactly. You don't like it, then stop it.   Related articles Dolphins Players Feel Patriots' Strategy Was 'Disrespectful' (boston.cbslocal.com) Dolphins Defense Upset Because 'Disrespectful' Patriots Ran Same Play Over and Over in Week 13 Win (nesn.com) Dolphins saw "disrespect" in Pats running same play over and over (profootballtalk.nbcsports.com) Randy Starks injured early in Patriots at Dolphins, New England Takes 7-0 Lead (thephinsider.com)
