On a day that Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas were inducted to the Dolphins ring of honour it would figured the Dolphins hold on to win an ugly game with a defensive stand.  Ryan Tannehill played another solid game in which he had a 112 QB rating the highest of his career but it was the defense which was the real star of this ugly win. Despite giving up 462 yards to a pretty average St Louis defense this bend but don't break unit was able to hold St Louis to a measly 14 point. St Louis had their opportunities but 3 missed field goals ended up really costing, which is a feeling the Dolphins fans know all too well. The Dolphins were completely outplayed in the 1st half yet got out to a 10-6 lead, the inability to finish drives kept the Dolphins in the game and despite the fact Ryan Tannehill didn't have any help from his run game today he was able to make the proper adjustments at the line and lead his team down the field. Tannehill was poised again and while he wasn't spe...

Ryan Tannehill is turning into a franchise quarterback in Miami

Earlier this year the Dolphins fans were outside the stadium and complaining about the ownership and GM, their team is tied for first in the division. I know it sounds crazy but the Dolphins have a great shot. Ryan Tannehill has brought the team back into playoff talks. Right now everyone in the AFC East has a fair shot, because they are all 3-3. This weekend Ryan Tannehill completed...

Despite strong start, the Dolphins have work to do during the bye week

500 %, while some fans will complain that this team could be 5-1 at the bye the fact is that they are not. There is still plenty to be happy about with the Dolphins 3-3 record. The Dolphins are starting to come together, the defense is playing at a very high level, and Ryan Tannehill’s passer rating has now gone up in t 3 consecutive games and the Dolphins are coming off back to...

The No-Names Return for the Miami Dolphins

The 3-3 Miami Dolphins are a 500 team for the first time since December 19, 2010. The Dolphins were 7-7 prior to finishing the 2010 season 7-9 and beginning 2011 with seven straight losses. Three... What happened to the Dolphins running game?

The Miami Dolphins are quickly changing their recipe for success, although it’s not by choice.  Earlier this year, Reggie Bush was leading the Dolphins to the #2 ranked rushing offense in the NFL. The Dolphins were grinding out games, running the football and stopping the run.  Now, the Dolphins rank #12 with 116 yards per game.  The low point came on Sunday when the Dolphins...

Joe Philbin outcoaches veteran Jeff Fisher

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Score this one for Mr. Second Choice. When the Miami Dolphins went looking for a coach after last season, Jeff Fisher was tops on their list. But Fisher spurned the Fish and went to St. Louis. He returned to Dolphins turf Sunday for the first time since his interview last January. And what happened? Fisher, a guy coaching his 268th NFL regular-season game...

Tannehill helps Dolphins edge Rams

MIAMI (AP) -- Ryan Tannehill threw two touchdown passes and the Miami Dolphins withstood a late rally by the St. Louis Rams to win 17-14 Sunday. The Rams faced a fourth-and-8 at the Miami 49-yard line with 30 seconds left, and rather than go for a first down, coach Jeff Fisher sent out rookie Greg Zuerlein to try a 66-yard field goal, which missed wide left. Zuerlein made two field...

Dolphins show knack for winning close games

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- Calling for a fake punt with four minutes left is risky stuff from a rookie coach, especially one as even-keel as Joe Philbin. The Miami Dolphins coach concedes Las Vegas isn't for him. He does play the odds though, which paid off in Miami's 17-14 win Sunday over the St. Louis Rams. A successful fake punt was one of several key plays by the Dolphins down...

Sam Bradford Gets Bent Backwards During TD Run

via Bleacher ReportI think that Sam Bradford may need to spend some time in the hot tub this evening to cure what will most likely be an incredibly sore back following this short TD run. Karlos Dansby of the Miami Dolphins jumped over the pile and literally bent Sam completely backwards. Check out the video below and you will see how amazing it is that Bradford wasn’t seriously...

Dolphins Outlast Rams

The Miami Dolphins' dysfunction took many forms Sunday, including a backward pass by Ryan Tannehill that flew out of bounds for a 7-yard loss. His offensive linemen managed to commit four penalties in a three-play span, while defensive breakdowns and replay overrules were recurring problems. Even so, the Dolphins did enough right to hold off the St. Louis Rams, 17-14.

Dolphins Winning Close Games

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Calling for a fake punt with four minutes left is risky stuff from a rookie coach, especially one as even-keel as Joe Philbin. The Miami Dolphins coach concedes Las Vegas isn't for him. ''I work too hard for my money,'' Philbin said. "I'm not a gambler."

Week 5 Preview – St. Louis Rams vs. Miami Dolphins

Looking at the numbers, this doesn’t look good for the Rams. Since the end of the 2007 season, the Rams have won exactly five road games. Yes, this is a different team, but this new team is 0 and 2 on the road. The Rams need to be able to run the ball, or at least threaten the run to have offensive success. Turns out, Miami is the number one defense against the run in the...

Dolphins 17, Rams 14

MIAMI GARDENS – Greg the Leg made it interesting. Not until St. Louis Rams rookie kicker Greg Zuerlein missed from a potential record-setting 66 yards on the game's final play did the Miami Dolphins escape with a 17-14 win on Sunday afternoon at Sun Life Stadium. The Rams moved from their own 3 to the Dolphins' 48-yard-line in eight plays over the final 1:41, but they...
