Anyone who thinks that the Steelers will draft a quarterback in the first round should quit watching football. I am a huge Roethlisberger supporter. The Steelers need to get a quality back up. Everybody was questioning Roethlisberger and Haley for the late season debacle. Maybe they deserve a little bit, but I put some blame on Keenan Lewis. All of one you who want this guy. This is the same guy who could not beat out Bryant McFadden or Willie Gay? The same guy who missed the interception against Tennessee which would have stopped the Titans winning drive. The same guy who got burnt by a one handed Dez Bryant in the corner of the end zone. The same guy who could not AJ Green for 21 yard pass to put Cincinnati in position to eliminate the Steelers from the playoffs. I am not taking all of Keenan's pass defenses because Ike had his side on locked down. Even if the Steelers do keep Lewis, I still think the Steelers should take Jonathan Banks in the first round, if available. Get off Roethlisberger and Haley's back! To easy to blame the quarterback and offensive coordinator.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Kevin Colbert, the Pittsburgh Steelers general manager, said that the team would not rule out drafting any position in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. After saying that many fans began thinking about whether or not the Steelers would take a quarterback in the first round of the draft. That comment has been taken way out of proportion and has been overblown by many people this week.
Ben Roethlisberger was on pace to have the best season of his NFL career before he was injured against the Kansas City Chiefs in week 10. However, after the Steelers finished 8-8 and the team struggled down the stretch many fans are ready to call out Todd Haley and Roethlisberger. Others are questioning whether or not the Steelers need a new quarterback because of Roethlisberger’s quote “performance falling off the last two seasons” as one blogger said.
Many think that the relationship between Haley and Roethlisberger needs to end even if that means getting rid of Roethlisberger. However, the only ...

The Steelers Offensive Line Could be Really Young and Talented in 2013
The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line is sure to make a couple of changes during the off-season and they could be a very young starting group in 2013. During the past three NFL Drafts the Steelers have focused heavily on the offensive line and it may finally be ready to pay off. The only question left to answer is whether or not the Steelers can keep their line healthy for an entire...
2012 Steelers A Perfect Example of “Any Given Sunday”
The saying “any given Sunday” is well known around the NFL. It’s basic meaning is that any given Sunday any team can beat any other team and for the most part it is true. Every year in the NFL there are good teams and bad teams, but the one thing that people fail to remember at times is that every player in the NFL is a pro-football player and was a stand-out player in college...

This is part three in a series from steelcityblitz.com arguing the reasons why the Pittsburgh Steelers should take a specific position with the 17th pick in the first round. Today is a look at the safety position. One of the hardest things for any fan to admit is that there must come a time when his or her favorites need to hang up the cleats. A Sad Super Bowl for The Nation
Citizens of the One and Only Sports Nation, we are in a time of mourning. Not only are our beloved Steelers making vacation plans which do not include saying the words “I’m going to Disney World!”, two teams that give us absolutely nothing to cheer for, are meeting in the Super Bowl.
If you are not familiar with my work, or who I am (Where have you been?), I live just outside...
No, The Steelers Will Not Trade For Darrelle Revis
By now you have probably read the report by Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com that states the New York Jets are looking to trade cornerback Darrelle Revis, who missed almost all of last season after suffering a torn ACL. If you are one of the people that think that the Pittsburgh Steelers will trade for Revis, you need to have your head checked.
Revis is set to earn a $3 million...
The Prevailing Trend Linked To Playoff Success? Drive!
By Christopher DiMarino
The primary concern that I've had for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the past few years appears to be a key theme in this NFL Playoffs. You see, I believe that the mental component of football is much more important than many lead on. Having the drive to win is vital and can separate otherwise equivalent teams. The Steelers proved a lot in the last decade...

Great Moments In Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch: 2013 Pens Season Blowout
Well here's something we haven't poked our heads around in for quite some time. Great Moments in Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch, my love note to the crappy knockoff sports memorabilia we've all known and been gifted, sort of dried up as a regular feature as 2011 turned to 2012. We had only 1 or 2 posts on the subject in all of the last calendar year. Not for lack...

Ask Wex (1/23)
Here we are again, answering questions about the offseason instead of the Super Bowl. I don’t expect customers to be tossing me softballs about the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I’ll try to hit some sharp singles anyway.
