Mark Berman KRIV-TV HOUSTON - Free agent tight end Joel Dreessen will sign with the Denver Broncos. In a text message to FOX 26 Sports Dreessen said, "going to Broncos." He chose the Broncos over re-signing with the Houston Texans. Dreessen also visited the New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tennessee Titans. The six-year veteran spent the last five years with the Texans, who signed Dreessen in 2007 after he was released by the New York Jets. Dreessen was actually released by the Texans on Sept. 13, 2007, only to be re-signed two weeks later, and since then became an important weapon in the Houston offense. Last season, he played in nearly 70 percent of the Texans offensive plays. In five years with the Texans, Dreessen caught 105 passes for 1,323 yards and 13 touchdowns. Dreessen grew up in Fort Morgan, Colo. and played college football at Colorado State University.
