Rams DT Clifton Ryan had about a bad of a season that one could have. He was stripped on the goal line on opening day as he was going in for a potential game winning score on defense. The ball went for a touchback for Arizona. He struggled with migraines all season, eventually having to be put on IR because he could not get them under control. Ron Clements of the Telegraph (amongst other places) does some investigative work about Ryan’s status with the team.
Other free agents who will likely not return to the Rams are defensive tackle Clifton Ryan, who has removed all Rams references from both his personal website and Twitter account…
Ryan used to be a starter on the Rams defensive front until he was derailed by injury. He still would be a valuable member of the Rams defensive line rotation if they can get him to return. I would imagine that the back and forth with diagnosing and getting treatment for his migraines this season probably left a bad taste in his mouth. Without Ryan and recent draft pick Darell Scott struggling, the Rams will certainly need some help at defensive tackle this offseason.
