The Philadelphia Eagles continued to add depth to their defensive line Thursday afternoon as they traded fullback Stanley Havili to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for defensive end Clifton Geathers.Havili was selected by the Eagles in the seventh round (240th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. His sudden departure indicates a few things. New coach Chip Kelly values versatility in his offense and Havili solely plays the fullback position. The Eagles will more likely rotate newly acquired FB/TE James Casey in and out of his primary positions to create different looks for an offense that is already shaping up to be quite interesting. For the Colts, Havili gives them a pure fullback that they didn't possess last season. With his addition, Indianapolis will look to try to put together a better running game this season and not lean so heavily on the shoulders of sophomore quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck didn't seem to have an issue with it last season though, as he broke the record for most fourth quarter comebacks (7), passing Vince Young and Ben Roethlisberger.Geathers has been quite the journeymen in the NFL thus far. The Eagles will be his sixth team in just four seasons. The acquisition of Geathers for the Eagles creates an interesting scenario in their defensive depth chart. Philadelphia appears to be turning up the heat on DE Vinny Curry after his disappointing rookie season, where he was held without a sack on 89 snaps in six games. Curry, drafted 59th overall, will now be competing with Geathers and Phillip Hunt in an already crowded field for playing time in the Eagles' new 3-4 scheme that includes Trent Cole, Brandon Graham & the newly acquired Connor Barwin.Who made out better in this deal? What needs do both teams still need to address in the coming weeks & during the NFL Draft?
