Found August 25, 2013 on Pro Football Zone:
According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer,  the Eagles have released safety Kenny Phillips. Not long after the Eagles announced that they had released ten players, the team cut safety Kenny Phillips, per an NFL source Phillips, despite his pedigree, was not expected to make the club. The veteran safety, who was signed as a free agent this offseason, missed the last two preseason games with a quadriceps injury. Phillips has a long history of knee injuries. Even when he played, Phillips looked limited. The contract the former N.Y. Giant signed with the Eagles included no guaranteed money. Even though Phillips can’t stay healthy, you have to wonder if the Giants will bring him back after losing Stevie Brown for the season. Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Eagles FS Kenny Phillips On Roster Bubble?

Jeff Mclane of the Philadelphia Inquirer believes there is a chance the Eagles cut FS Kenny Phillips. Come Tuesday, all NFL teams will be forced to trim down their rosters to 75 players total. The Eagles clearly need help at safety next to SS Patrick Chung, however health issues could be Phillips’ down fall in Philly. Phillips has missed the last two preseason games with the...

A LeSean McCoy “Cut on a Dime” Juke May Have Been the Nail in Kenny Phillips’ Coffin

The Philadelphia Eagles have released Kenny Phillips, the free agent acquisition they thought could help fill black hole at the safety position in 2013.  Phillips just could never really get on the field in camp or in the preseason due to one injury or another. For the past few weeks it’s been a quad injury, but the main issue with Phillips are his knees. In 2009, Phillips...

Is Michael Vick the Guinea Pig For Chip Kelly’s Rookie Season?

Most people figured that Michael Vick would be the starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles come opening day.  The reasoning and rationale may have varied from person to person, but the end result was the same. However, one person’s reasoning surfaced recently that I found interesting.  Former Dallas wide receiver Michael Irvin offered his take on why Kelly chose Vick over...

Eagles part ways with safety Kenny Phillips

Safety Kenny Phillips shouldn't have a hard time finding a new job after the Philadelphia Eagles released the veteran on Sunday, Mike Wilkening of PFT reports.

Michael Irvin: Michael Vick can’t be that stupid to want to keep running

We reported this week that Eagles quarterback Michael Vick plans on running a lot more this season and isn’t worried about getting injured. Former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin can’t believe how “stupid” Vick is. “It’s stupid,” Irvin said, via The Sporting News. “You cannot be this stupid. You cannot be this dumb. It’s impossible. Your [butt] has been hurt...

Foles Must Go

Last week, Chip Kelly officially announced that Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles to start the 2013-14 season. This wasn’t exactly a surprise. Vick has had an excellent preseason and is the more experienced player, as well as the bigger locker room presence. Foles was, undoubtedly disappointed.  And of course, some people in the Philadelphia...

Michael Irvin has critical words for Michael Vick: 'You cannot be this stupid'

Michael Irvin loves how Michael Vick plays thinks he has earned the starting job the Philadelphia Eagles just officially gave him and believes he is the best fit for the team right now. But Irvin does not understand how 11 years into his career Vick has not learned how to slide to protect himself. “It’s mind-boggling’’ Irvin the Hall of Fame receiver and a co-host for NFL...

Nick Foles' trade stock rising... and Jordan Raanan's 53-man roster projection for Eagles...

I knew the Buffalo Bills were looking longingly in Nick Foles' direction this past week... but what I didn't know is that other teams are shopping for Shaggy, too... Good for Nick. By most accounts he is gaining respect around the league. I'm cautious with his evaluation because I lived through the Kevin Kolb saga in Philly. It also begs the question--...

Chip Kelly is in Real Good Shape for his First Season in the NFL

First year Philadelphia Eagles Head.Coach Chip Kelly found himself in an enviable position. He needed to pick who his starting quarterback was going to be and both of his options were playing well during the preseason.Prior to the third preseason game he went ahead and picked the veteran, Michael Vick. From the looks of the game against Jacksonville it was a pretty good choice. ...

The Knee’d to Prevent Injuries

It seems as though each week a different Eagles’ player has his wings clipped, having their season cut short, by an ACL injury. As of today, Eagles training camp has reported that four Eagles players will be sidelined this season as a result of ACL injuries; receivers Jeremy Maclin & Arrelious Benn, linebacker Jason Phillips, and third-year backup transitioning outside linebacker...

Lead On, Chip Tonight in Jacksonville, the Eagles turned the ball over and fell behind early. They made mistakes in special teams and the running game, with promising youngsters Damaris Johnson and Bryce Brown having killer fumbles. The game was on the road, in muggy conditions, and after a perfect punt, they were 99 yards away from paydirt and a win, with their scrubs in. Who cares...
