According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles have released safety Kenny Phillips.
Not long after the Eagles announced that they had released ten players, the team cut safety Kenny Phillips, per an NFL source
Phillips, despite his pedigree, was not expected to make the club. The veteran safety, who was signed as a free agent this offseason, missed the last two preseason games with a quadriceps injury. Phillips has a long history of knee injuries. Even when he played, Phillips looked limited. The contract the former N.Y. Giant signed with the Eagles included no guaranteed money.
Even though Phillips can’t stay healthy, you have to wonder if the Giants will bring him back after losing Stevie Brown for the season.
