Matt Barkley and the rookies spent Friday installing offensive plays. Barkley will likely begin fourth on the depth chart behind Michael Vick, Nick Foles and Dennis Dixon come Monday when the veterans join the rookies for Organized Team Activities (OTAs).
And finally, for the first time under Chip Kelly, Monday's practices will be open to the media.
Barkley already has a lot to say about the speed of Kelly's offense and how he expects to fit in. He spoke to the media on Friday:
Matty B. says he can run the Eagles offense and adjust to the new tempo...I like the confidence...he aims to make a prophet out of Hall of Fame poster Jerky Sumlin, who followed his entire career at USC.
"I'l make it fit. It doesn't matter what plays are run," Barkley said. "I'm going to find a way to help this team out. I know Coach Kelly has a way of working things out as well in terms of how he schemes and how he ca...

Barkley fell all the way to the fourth round at the draft last month after entering the 2012 season as a possible No. 1 pick. This report sounds a little ambitious but anything's possible with the Eagles.
According to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia News, the quarterback competition Chip Kelly has touted would happen, seems to be a one man race.
Eagles receiver Jeremy Macklin gave his opinion on what he is seeing unfold.
He says Nick Foles, Vick’s main competition is just getting a ‘sprinkling’ of reps, and that a good indication that Kelly has his mind made up on who he wants...

Jeremy Maclin was raised by a single mom and now the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver is honoring those in the same situation on Mother's Day.
On the eve of the first rookie camp under Chip Kelly, the Philadelphia Eagles were busy getting down to other business with their rookies—getting five of the team’s draft picks signed.
Included in that group are second-round pick TE Zach Ertz, fifth-round safety Earl Wolff, and seventh-rounders DE Joe Kruger, CB Jordan Poyner and DE David King. This means that three of the team’s...
