It’s not yet official, but the days of having to say “Philadelphia Eagles” and “Vince Young” together are rapidly coming to a close. Phew. Trent Edwards The Eagles announced on Thursday that the team signed former Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards to a 1-year deal. Edwards worked out for Philadelphia a couple of times in recent weeks, so the signing is not a surprise. Does it officially mean that Vince Young will not be on the team’s roster in 2012? No. Not quite yet. But it is all but certain. VY will be allowed to walk at the  into free agency when it begins on March 13. Where he goes is some other team’s problem. Sure, Young defeated the eventual Super Bowl winning New York Giants when Vick couldn’t at the start of the season. But that’s not how he will be remembered most in Philadelphia.
