Today is the first day that NFL teams can use the franchise tag designation on pending free agents. CSNPhilly's Geoff Mosher is reporting that the Eagles will not use the tag this year and since their only free agent that could conceivably get the tag is Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie you can put two and two together. If the Eagles were to tag DRC, it would cost them around $10.7m next season. Anyone who has watched him over the last two seasons would probably come to the same conclusion the Eagles have, that he's not worth $10+ million. The team could still work on a new deal with him prior to the start of free agency or they could do the same even after he hits the open market. Source: SBNation.com
