Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas wants a new contract, and he’s willing to sit out to get it.

Thomas is entering the final year of his contract, and he said Thursday that he wants to finish his career with the Seahawks — provided they compensate him well enough.

“I want to finish my career there,” Thomas said at the Pro Bowl, via ESPN’s Michael DiRocco and Brady Henderson. “I definitely don’t see myself going out there not signed. But I’m going to continue to work my butt off and enjoy this process at the Pro Bowl."

“As far as my future in Seattle, I think if they want me, you know, money talks. We’ll get something accomplished. Other than that, I’m just taking it one day at a time.”

Thomas added that he has not been informed of any negotiations by his agent.

This adds further questions to how long the Seahawks can keep their defense together. Thomas made noise during the season about a different team, and it’s clear now that he’s ready to agitate for more money. This, coupled with some other rumors, could spell the end of the Legion of Boom.
