Thanks to a nagging hip injury, Ed Reed isn't certain when he'll join his new Texans teammates on the field -- be it in training camp or the regular season.

However, he seems more certain about one thing: who caused the injury and subsequent surgery.

Made available to the media Tuesday, the veteran safety heavily implied that Tom Brady is to blame for the torn labrum suffered in last season's AFC Championship Game.

“Only play I can look at is when I got kicked by a certain quarterback but even then I played in the Super Bowl and you saw what happened there,” Reed said, via the Houston Chronicle. “Even then I had two MCL sprains, a second degree one in the left in the Super Bowl in the first quarter and played through that. So if you’ve got any questions about my heart and how I play and how I work (that’s your answer).”

The kick occurred when Brady was sliding down and, purposefully or not, swung his leg in the air. Reed, then with the Ravens, awkwardly tumbled over the Patriots quarterback, who was eventually fined $10,000 for the maneuver.

Whether or not Brady was the perpetrator, the Texans assumed a giant risk when they signed Reed to a three-year, $15 million contract. The 34-year-old has had trouble staying on the field in recent years, and his play, as a result, is not what it once was.
