Edwards, who was a free agent and had a once promising career, has signed with the Seattle Seahawks. The contract is expected to be a one-year deal.
The Seahawks are hoping that he could turn into the No. 2 receiver. After signing, he joined the team for practice.
This is his fourth team in his career, as the 29-year-old started out his career with the Cleveland Browns. He was traded to the New York Jets, and was signed by the San Francisco 49ers last season.
In 2007, he had 80 receptions for 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns. Since that time, he has struggled to re-live those stats.
He played in nine games last season, in which he was injured for much of the season. He had 15 receptions for 181 yards.
“I like what they’ve got going on out here,” Edwards said. “There is a lot of positivity, and you can see the energy these guys have.”
