According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, the Broncos want defensive end Elvis Dumervil to take a pay cut. If he declines the Broncos may be forced to cut the talented edge rusher.
Dumervil is scheduled to make $12 million in 2013 and that’s a little too rich for the Broncos taste. Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com writes:
‘Dumervil is due to earn a base salary of $12 million this season. If a deal that would involve Dumervil taking less can’t be worked out, perhaps the Broncos could replace him with Freeney.
The Colts have announced Freeney won’t be back. His agent technically isn’t eligible to talk to other teams until Saturday, March 9.’
