Fox Sports Live panelist Ephraim Salaam will team with former Houston Texans teammate Chester Pitts on the upcoming season of CBS's The Amazing Race. The 23rd season (seriously) of the show premieres on September 29th.
While you'd think this would be a great opportunity for Fox Sports 1 to get some love on another network, filming took place in June, well before the launch of the network. CBS will probably just end up billing Salaam as "former NFL player" and/or "TV commentator" as opposed to "one of the stars of Fox Sports Live on the brand new Fox Sports 1!" That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
Is there going to be even the slightest ratings bump for Fox Sports Live? After all, the last season of The Amazing Race in the spring consistently drew nine million viewers, and won its timeslot every week but one (when it was matched up with the Oscars). But let's be honest: how many people are going to be Googling Salaam after the show, and how many are going to be Googling Kim DeJesus, a Twitter superstar and the wife of David DeJesus of the Tampa Bay Rays?
If Salaam was working for CBS Sports Network though, you'd better believe that his appearances on The Amazing Race would be getting pumped to another level during the NFL season on CBS.

Two years ago Houston Texans rookie wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the former Clemson Tigers’ second-leading receiver, suffered a mild concussion in a car accident, and did not travel with the team to the Discover Orange Bowl in Miami. The good news was that Hopkins didn’t have any other serious injuries, and was able to join his teammates for […]

Texans coach Gary Kubiak indicated that he won't ride Arian Foster in Week 1. "Obviously I don't think Arian's going to be a 30-carry guy on opening night," Kubiak said. SOURCE: Tania Ganguli, ESPN.com.Fantasy Spin:The fact that Kubiak even said 30 should tell you just how much he still plans to use Foster when he thinks the running back is 100 percent. We won...

The Houston Texans’ 2013 preseason is finished and they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 24-6. The big stories were the return of DeVier Posey and all of the young players fighting for their NFL futures. Some will be with the Texans and others could be headed to another NFL team.

HOUSTON (AP) -- Houston coach Gary Kubiak isn't ready to say who will back up quarterback Matt Schaub after T.J. Yates and Case Keenum both performed well this preseason.
Kubiak expects to make a decision on the spot by Thursday, which means he'll probably keep both quarterbacks on the roster.
The Texans have to trim their roster to 53 by Saturday afternoon.
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins left last Saturday's preseason game against the Miami Dolphins early with a concussion. For a majority of the week Hopkins was in phase 1 in the recovery process, but according to ESPN's Tania Ganguli, Hopkins has been moved up to phase 4 of the recovery process and has was cleared to play on Tuesday.

The Houston Texans look set at backup quarterback no matter who they pick, and the Dallas Cowboys have problems with depth on defense.
Those were among the conclusions to be drawn from the Texans' 24-6 victory Thursday night in a preseason finale that was missing all but maybe one starter.
Houston quarterbacks Case Keenum and T.J. Yates continued their solid preseason play...
On my last stop in the AFC, I am making my predictions for the AFC South. Two years ago, this was a runaway division for the Houston Texans. Not so much any more. QB Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts brought a resurgent nemesis to the Texans last season. I give the nod to the Texans as having what I consider to be the best defense in the AFC but the offense is in question. RB...
