Would the Jets claim Randy Moss to stop him from returning to New England or would they do it to add yet another weapon to their offense? I would be shocked if it were solely for the latter, but if the Jets do put in a claim for Moss and get him, both would become true. I don’t think Moss lands to the Jets in waivers, but if he does I wouldn’t be surprised if the Jets claimed him, although I would disagree with it. The Jets need the guys they currently have on their roster to execute. They don’t need Moss and the baggage that comes with him.
I can see the Jets’ brass discussing the possibility of claiming Moss right now. I could see them talking about the dropped passes in their loss to the Packers, and how Randy Moss would be an upgrade over Jerricho Cotchery and give the Jets a solid group of receivers that would be hard for opposing defenses to game plan against.
