Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Derrick Brooks is returning to professional football as the new president of the Tampa Bay Storm, sources with knowledge of the move said Monday night. Brooks, who spent 14 years with the Bucs and established himself as perhaps the franchise's greatest player, will be introduced in his new position with the Arena Football League team at a news conference today at the St. Pete Times Forum. Brooks, 37, retired from pro football as a player in 2010, one year after the Bucs let him go in a purge of veterans prior to the start of the 2009 season. Brooks has since dabbled in broadcasting and devoted time to his multiple charitable interests in Tampa, including the Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School.
