Earlier tonight, at a jam-packed, star-studded edition of The Tradition at TD Garden, former Patriots CB Ty Law spoke to a few of us reporters before he was honored. While the award left him “at a loss for words,” it didn’t stop him from uttering a few words.
Here’s what I wanted to know… Law considers himself retired. He hasn’t played since 2009. So, is he actually retired? Has he turned in his papers? Well…
“Just this past year (I retired),” Law responded. “It’s pretty much official. I’ll tell you, I had an opportunity to play last year, but it just wasn’t the right time. I said, it’s time to call it a career, but hopefully, I’ll get the opportunity to officially retire as a Patriot. That’s my ultimate goal right now.”
