The New York Giants have ruled out starting right CB Prince Amukamara (hamstring) and S Kenny Phillips (knee) for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, so Atlanta is sitting pretty at the prospect of exploiting that void, right? Not so fast. The Falcons receivers are hurting as well. Both Roddy White (knee) and no. 3 receiver Harry Douglas (ribs) are is listed as questionable. So it may depend on one or both playing Sunday, and the 11-2 Falcons, coming off their worst performance of the season last week aginst the Carolina Panthers, need to have a good showing against the defending Super Bowl champs. History is on their side, as they haven't lost back-to-back games in three years. "We're a veteran team," quarterback Matt Ryan said, via the Associated Press. "We have guys who understand that when you don't play your best, you get right back in there and start on the next opponent." Head coach Mike Smith is also confident his team will respond well. "You want to stop the streak at one," he said. "That's what we've talked about from the very beginning. You've got to flush the previous game out as quickly as possible. You've got to make your corrections and move on. Don't let the last game have an effect on the next game." var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
